In my own life, I am beginning to believe that practicing the presense of the Lord invigourates spiritual life unlike anything else.
To "set the Lord...before me" must mean to call and recall the fact that God is at hand, with the believer, in a very real sense. It is something that we must do with the mind and heart. That He is always there is indeed true; that we rarely acknowledge and live under the conscience reality of it is also true.
For those who will pay close attention to this encouraging Bible verse and obey it, they will find a new spring of spiritual water welling up within them.
If God is for us, who can be against us? Therefore, the things that might normally shake us have no power over us.
When we practice His presence with our mind, we find a resonation in our whole being, yes, even our physical bodies dwell securely in this grace.
The apostle Pauls said that the mystery of the gospel is "Christ in you, the hope of glory." By the Spirit, Messiah dwells in us. Take some time today and tomorrow to conscioulsy stop, even just for a second or two, look upwards to God with you heart, and thank Him for His presence. Then you will have hope like never before.
